San Diego homes are selling for over asking
Many years ago, I learned that it's nearly impossible to time the market. It is tough to know that we are at the bottom or the top until after it happens. In retrospect we realize, I should have bought then. Or - It would have made sense to sell and take the profit in 2007.

But in 2010, I had no money. Now people have money and jobs, but the prices are high, and it hurts that we didn't buy sooner.

We all know the market is hot right now, and it's a seller's market. Why would you possibly buy?

Here are the biggest reasons my clients buy. There are smart, successful, accomplished people paying more than the asking price and more than the appraised value. These clients believe any perceived risk is far outweighed by the benefit of homeownership in San Diego.
  • Interest rates are low.
  • They are building fewer homes for more population. There will continue to be a shortage of inventory that will continue to push prices up.
  • I need a place to live, and I hate renting and landlords.
  • I might as well store my cash somewhere.
  • If I don't buy it now, it will get more expensive.
  • I want the mortgage interest and property tax income tax deductions
  • I promised it to my wife, girlfriend, kids, dog, etc.
The alternative to buying in this hot market is waiting. The tough part about waiting is that it rarely works.

Instead, consider buying something you can afford today to start building equity and getting the house you really want the next time around?
